John Egbert - ectoBiologist
Of all the humans, John is the one that Nepeta knows the least about. She hasn't ever talked to him, though she has observed him via Trollian and wonders as to the nature of his relationship with WV. Overall he seems pretty nice, but nothing has yet to really bring her attention to him.
Rose Lalonde - tentacleTherapist
Nepeta has some fondness for Rose. She's talked to her a handful of times, and she's also talked to her sprite, Jaspers who she is equally attached to. She was particularly touched when Rose went as far as to give Jaspers her laptop so that the two of them could keep in contact. Rose is definitely someone she would consider a 'friend' even if she is pretty sure the feelings aren't mutual.
Dave Strider - turntechGodhead
Apparently Dave and Nepeta have actually interacted once before in canon and I completely missed it since it was off screen. Apparently she came across 'Awkete' and liked him quite well. I imagine she probably figures Dave is just taunting her like so many of the other trolls when it came to the roleplaying, but that he went along with it anyway was still pretty awesome.
Mostly though she just knows him as Terezi's friend. She was the one who gave Terezi her tablet so that they could begin their little comic duels which she found pretty adorable, and any friend of Terezi's is a friend of hers. Since coming here she's starting to think him a great story teller after hearing more tales about Awkete and his friends. Overall he is good in her book, but nothing has pinged her enough to regard him as someone she'd actively seek out or talk to.
Jade Harley - gardenGnostic
Of all four humans, Jade is the one that Nepeta is interested in the most! From her observations she was a very sweet and cheerful girl with whom she felt herself relating to a lot. They were both raised in the wilderness, they both adore animals, they are of similar disposition, and other small details. Jade is also rare amongst humans in that she was raised by an animal, much like trolls are. Nepeta was pretty much interested in becoming friends with Jade from the get-go, and while in the Veil it didn't go all that well, in Death City is seemed to be going much better. She is definitely one Nepeta wants to hang out with more.
Aradia Megido - apocalypseArisen
I think Nepeta didn't really know Aradia before she died, given her reaction to the first conversations we see between them. Maybe that's why she was never overly perturbed by how she was 'dead' or how she acted when she was. She was her server player so the two of them worked quite closely during their SGRUB session and Nepeta formed a very big attachment to her. As she sees it, as her server player Nepeta's duty is to protect her at all costs, and that carries over even into Death City. It's strengthened by the fact that Aradia is her moirail's matesprit.
She was very surprised, and very happy to see her alive here in the city. At first it was a bit of a shock to see how different she was personality wise, but hey. She's smiling and laughing, Nepeta isn't going to complain. She really does like her a lot.
There is only one issue Nepeta has with Aradia, and that's the whole business of time, fate, and this determinism business. Not going to go into detail here since that is a huge can of worms but it rubs her in all sorts of wrong ways. She doesn't bring it up however because she dislikes arguing, and she knows how hard, and how much Aradia sacrificed for what she believed in.
Tavros Nitram - adiosToreador
Tavros is one of the nice trolls, and so of course Nepeta likes him. They seemed to have been friends for quite a while, or at the very least back when the crew was FLARPing since he mentions how Equius kept her from joining them.
Aside that, there isn't much to say. She has fun roleplaying with him, and is probably one of the few trolls who exerts patience with him or doesn't insult him in some way. They haven't really interacted much since coming to Death City.
Sollux Captor - twinArmageddons
As far as I can recall they have had no seen interaction in canon, and they haven't really talked all that much in Death City either. But he's nice enough despite his occasional outbursts so I'm sure she likes him just fine.
Karkat Vantas - carcinoGeneticist ♥
Oh boy. Nepeta is as flushed for Karkat as it is possible for a troll to be, and has been for a very long time. There's quie a number of reasons for this which would need their own entry so I won't go into that, otherwise this would end up very long. She finally came around to confessing her feelings in Death City and she was met with a rejection which she has been taking very hard. The feelings, needless to say are still there and probably won't be disappearing anytime soon but she will be pretending otherwise to avoid future discomfort and awkwardness whenever they are forced to talk. Unless it's text though, she'll likely be avoiding him for quite a while.
Kanaya Maryam - grimAuxiliatrix
Again we haven't really seen these two interact but Nepeta likes Kanaya a lot, and probably respects her as she is the most mature of all the trolls. She is a little confused by her attention to fashion, but hey, everyone has their own odd interest so she doesn't think any less of her for it.
Terezi Pyrope - gallowsCalibrator
Though the two often tend to be assumed interchangeable, while Equius is her moirail, Nepeta considers Terezi her best friend and nothing will ever change that. She isn't scared or weirded out by Terezi's antics in the slightest--in fact they are probably some of the things she likes best about her and she holds a great deal of admiration for her dedication to her aspirations. She takes great pride in being her Pouncellor, and would likely do just about anything for her. Things have taken in a bump in coming to Death City, when Nepeta finally came to the realization that they were both flushed for Karkat, but she doesn't resent Terezi at all for it. After all you can't help who you fall for, and she treasure her friendship with Terezi just as much as anything she may have had with Karkat. She has been a little avoidant as of late though because the sting of Karkat's rejection still remains, and she knows that if Terezi picked up on how down she has been feeling it wouldn't take very long for her to figure out the reason behind it, and Nepeta would rather avoid that awkwardness.
Vriska Serket - arachnidsGrip
So far, Nepeta has mostly just avoided Vriska. She openly admits that she's kind of scared of her given all the things that she has done. She hasn't really kept up with all the trouble that she has been causing in Death City and doesn't have too much interest in finding out. Things might start changing, however, since Vriska was just as much a part of that illusion Nepeta experienced in which all the trolls were back home, and behaving as a sort of family. It's made her reconsider her outlook on Vriska a little since she has come to realize she has pretty much based her opinion of her off of what everyone else has said without ever talking to her, herself. Not that she finds those opinions invalid, but she wants to see for herself, and she can't help but feel that maybe she just needs someone willing to give a helping hand. Whether Nepeta will actually do that or not, I don't know.
Equius Zahhak - centaursTesticle
♦ There is no one who means more to Nepeta than Equius. He will always come first, and no matter what everyone else says about him she thinks he is wonderful. This isn't to say that Nepeta is oblivious to his faults, hardly. If anything she knows them and all his less obvious ones better than anyone else, just as he knows hers. That's part of what being moirails is all about. Much like Karkat, Equius deserves his own entry and I'll need to talk to Sakki to figure out the nature of their moirallegiance but in short: Nepeta ♦ Equius always and forever.
Gamzee Makara - terminallyCapricious
Nepeta comes just before she learns that Gamzee has gone off the deep end, so to her he is still the goofy, lovable high oaf that she has always thought he was. She kind of loves it that he defies his caste since to her that is proof to Equius that his whole hemospectrum stuff is bull.
Eridan Ampora - caligulasAquarium
Eridan is the other troll aside from Vriska that Nepeta is not particularly fond of. He was her server player so I feel she at least has some bit of trust in him since that requires having to work together a good amount, but since playing she's regarded him as creepy. His insistence on filling a quadrant with anyone, even if he feels nothing for them is what frustrates her the most about him, as well as his need to dramatize just about everything. Much like Vriska as well, however, her illusion has made her want to reconsider her opinion of him, and try to give him more chances.
Feferi Peixes - cuttlefishCuller
Not much interaction going on between these two, but Nepeta holds Feferi in high regard. Not because she was the to-be Empress of Alternia, but because of what she might have done for their world had she been given that chance. Nepeta definitely loves Feferi's progressive ideas, and even more so her upbeat and cheery attitude. She would love to talk more with her.
I think this one will probably apply to all the trolls, even Eridan and Vriska. They are the only ones left of their race, they all went through the experience of SBURB together, and they are now all stuck in Veil with the constant thread of Jack finding them at any moment. Regardless of whatever they may think of one another, they are all they really have. Trolls may not really have the concept of as we know them (though I think Nepeta probably does, what with her roleplaying a mother cat having cubs) but as of now the 11 other trolls would constitute that for her.
Karkat is of course part of this and he can be the grouchiest, meanest leader ever but he will still be their grouchy, mean, leader.
on good terms - [our silver lining]
Debated between this one and friends. It's pretty close, at least from her perspective but even when you take her crush into account I don't think they talk enough on a regular basis for her to open up as readily on some things as say she might with Equius or Terezi.
It could very easily change with more interaction in SC, tho the crush might get in the way of making her completely comfortable until it is out in the open.
secret glances - [no one needs to know]
Oh boy. I think Nepeta has it pretty bad for Karkat. Aside from the blatant wall drawings of them she is pretty good at keeping those feelings under wraps. I imagine she hasn't told anyone, no even Equius (since that would likely not end well for Karkat) about her feelings.
So far headcanon is saying that she knows Karkat is nowhere near as mean or hateful as he tries to make himself out to be. I kind of feel that Nepeta is pretty good at picking up on how people are feeling what with all the feelings jams she's probably done with Equius, and how she has said in canon that she knows when people are being facetious or insincere with her. He isn't quite like any other troll--as it has become more and more evident in canon he is a lot more "human" than any of the other trolls and I think that's something that appeals to her. If not for the whole hunting down animals with her bare hands thing, Nepeta would also fall in the category of more human trolls. She definitely thinks he is a big sweetheart beneath the facade.
Then of course there is the fact that they do share some common interests in both being very into things related to romance and that as their leader she probably sees him as some kind of ~*hero*~ Regardless of what he may think, or the nature of SBURB he pulled them through that ordeal. She completely sees what happened with Jack as irrelevant since that is not something that he could have helped, and so she thinks he did an excellent job which. Considering who he was dealing with is quite an accomplishment indeed.
